Teen Sports Performance
Enhancement through Stress and Anxiety Treatment

The science of sports psychology has
experienced phenomenal growth, providing guidance in nutrition,
exercise routines and mental training to help athletes' sports
performance, and reduce the risk of unnecessary sports injuries and
early withdrawal from sports due to teen social anxiety disorder,
burn out, or another mental disorder.
The stress associated with school,
sports, and the teenage years in general can cause social anxiety or
even burn out, interfering with sports performance and limiting the
teen's potential. As a coach, if you have teen athletes dealing with

For example, professional baseball
players like Mackey Sasser, Steve Sachs, Rick Ankiel and Chuck
Knoblauch suddenly developed mental blocks preventing them from
throwing the ball straight. The famous golfer, Ben Hogan became
obsessed with developing the "perfect swing," which-for a
while-blocked his ability to play golf at all. Other athletes'
careers were destroyed by their lack of the mental training
necessary to help them manage their aggression (Mike Tyson), or
addictions (Daryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden).
These athletes did not have the
resources that teens have today to overcome the obstacles to

them overcome fears, build self confidence, and learn techniques
designed for sports performance enhancement so they can reach their
true potential. They learn the same mental exercises used by
Olympic and other professional coaches to train their athletes.
